This is a mid-century modern Swedish teapot. Designed and manufactured by the renowned Svensk Tenn of Stockholm Sweden. The company was established in 1924 by the visionary female entrepreneur Estrid Ericson, who recruited Austrian architect and designer Josef Frank a decade later. It was here that Josef Frank was given a unique space to create and throughout the years, he produced over 3,000 drawings and sketches as well as 250 prints. Svenskt Tenn is Purveyor to His Majesty since 1928. This is a truly functional piece of art from 1969. Something to make your tea and show off your flair for vintage design at the same time. It is in excellent condition with a bit of patina which can be easily cleaned off if you prefer it to be shinier. The handle is woven wicker and is in excellent condition where most are completely worn. The measurements are 11 " high by 8" deep including the handle in up position and the spout.
