This is an antique brass coat hook with number 267 engraved on shield. The shield has a fleur de lis design. This is a heavy duty hook and if mounted properly will hold a heavy coat or robe or purses. It has tags from a defunct antique store. We purchased this from a Chicago estate. It is uncertain if the number is a room number from a train or hotel or perhaps a coat check at a night club. The stories this piece could tell!
